TRAILS IN GEOPARK KARAVANKE
Diverse geology, strong natural factors ( glaciers and rivers) and human presence(from prehistoric hunters to farmers, miners and foresters) in our mountains, made region of Koroška a perfect destination for mountain biking - with a labirinth of panoramic mountain roads, forest cart tracks and epic single trails.
Here are the trails you should check out:
SINGLE TRAIL PARK JAMNICA
is a somewhat unusual park, as it falls under the category of "trail bike parks"
FLOW TRAIL PETZEN
"the longest Flow Trail in Europe"
a passage through the mountains, along the abandoned and mysterious tunnels under Mt. Peca
The network of forest roads and cart tracks, suitable for mountain biking, leading through and between the valleys or to and around the mountains.
There is a whole range of beautiful trails once used by shepherds, miners and foresters in the forests and mountains arround our region. You will only meet a solitary hunter on
these old, mostly deserted paths. Hiking paths are the only ones that are more populated and tidy. There is a slight problem though – Slovenian legislation does not allow biking everywhere, so taking some of these trails could get you in a bit of trouble.
However, we provide free information about appropriate biking trails as well as GPS tracks of some trails to our guests. The best way to enjoy the best trails ishowever with the local guides on our guided tours.
